There will be activities for both Junior School and Secondary students. The Children’s Book Council of Australia’s (CBCA) theme is “Across the Story Bridge” so we will use this theme in our activities for the week.
Junior School: Celebrate with a Book Character Parade across our own ‘story bridge’ near the Secondary Learning Centre. Tuesday 24 August, 8:45 – 9:45 am. Come to school dressed in costume if you are with mum and/or dad. Prizes for the most creative and innovative costumes will be awarded.
Secondary Students watch this space for details!
Grandparent’s Day in the IRC
Students had a wonderful time sharing books and being read to by their Grandparents. Many new books were kindly donated to the IRC by Grandparents on behalf of their grandchildren who will soon have the privilege of being the “first to borrow” the new books.
Books, books & more books!
During the holidays Mrs Miles, Mrs Koek and Mrs Sheerman went shopping for new IRC books. We bought books to help you with school work and also story books to escape to ‘other places’!
